Your application is filed on pmsuryaghar.gov.in with your consumer number. You receive an application/reference number by SMS — save it.
Day 0JVVNL checks your sanctioned load and transformer capacity. Most delays happen here — usually a name mismatch or low sanctioned load.
Day 7 – 15We install the plant in 2–3 days and upload the commissioning report with panel and inverter serial numbers to the portal.
Day 15 – 25A JVVNL engineer inspects earthing and safety, then the bi-directional meter replaces your old one. Your bill starts showing net consumption.
Day 25 – 45We upload your cancelled cheque and bank details on the portal to claim the subsidy. Double-check the IFSC — a typo silently stalls the payout.
Day 45 – 50The Government transfers up to ₹78,000 directly to your bank account by DBT. You will get an SMS from your bank when it lands.

Under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana the central subsidy is fixed: ₹30,000 for 1kW, ₹60,000 for 2kW and ₹78,000 for 3kW or larger. It is capped at ₹78,000, so a 5kW or 8kW system receives the same ₹78,000. The scheme applies to residential connections only, in the owner's name, and the money is transferred by DBT directly into your bank account after commissioning. Raavi Solar files the entire application and follows it up at no extra charge.
Rajasthan has 5.5 to 6.2 peak sun hours per day and over 300 clear days a year — among the best solar conditions in India. Each 1kW generates roughly 4.5 to 5 units daily, or about 135 to 150 units a month. So a 3kW plant produces around 400–450 units monthly, and a 5kW plant around 675–750 units. Generation dips slightly in the July–August monsoon weeks and peaks in March–May.
Plan for roughly 65–70 sq.ft. of shadow-free roof per kW. That means about 70 sq.ft. for 1kW, 200 sq.ft. for 3kW, 330 sq.ft. for 5kW and 520 sq.ft. for 8kW. If space is tight we can use elevated structures so you keep using the terrace underneath for drying clothes or parking, and higher-wattage TOPCon modules to fit more capacity into less area.
A standard on-grid system draws from the grid at night and exports surplus during the day, with JVVNL's bi-directional net meter adjusting the difference — so your bill is based on net consumption. On-grid systems shut down during a power cut for lineman safety. If you need backup during Rajasthan's summer outages, choose a hybrid system with a battery; we design those too.
With the subsidy applied and Rajasthan's high irradiation, most residential customers recover their investment in 3 to 4.5 years. Commercial customers claiming 40% accelerated depreciation often reach payback in under 3.5 years. Panels carry a 25–30 year linear performance warranty, so you get roughly two decades of nearly free electricity after payback. The inverter is typically replaced once around year 10–12.
Solar has no moving parts, so maintenance is mainly cleaning. In Rajasthan's dry season dust can reduce output by 15–20%, so we recommend a water rinse every 10–15 days from October to May, and less often during the monsoon. Every Raavi Solar installation includes 5 years of scheduled maintenance visits with thermal inspection, connection tightening and inverter health checks. Extended AMC plans are available afterwards.
